Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to deliver the ProPole System?

Each system is made to order and the usual delivery time is approximately six or eight

weeks from the time of order.

How do I frame the shots and how is the camera controlled?

We recommend using PS Remote software to control the camera. ( US $50 )

Just install it on a laptop and connect your camera using a 50' USB cable, and

you have complete control over the camera, along with full screen video to frame

the shots.

Purchase software here:  http://www.breezesys.com/PSRemote/features.htm#ps

The cable is a combination usb/cat5 cable with a usb booster to connect both

the camera and the laptop. This cable is included with your purchase.

What types of cameras can be used?

Any of the lightweight, prosumer, Canon cameras listed on the link above can be used.

How many people does it take to operate?

The pole and hitch combo weighs approximately 80 pounds and can be operated by a

single person. In addition the hitch is equipped with wheels whichmake transporting for

storage to and from the vehicle very easy.

What type of vehicle is required?

Just about any vehicle that has a 2x2" square hitch receiver can be used. The system can

also be adapted to suit common receivers types used in other countries.

Does the telescopic pole require guy wires for support?

No, the pole is supported by a patent pending hitch that adjusts the tilt to achieve a

vertical orientation prior to raising.

Is 34 feet high enough for residential photography?

We have found that it is more then adequate - in fact, the optimum height

for residential photography is at the roof line, otherwise the house starts to look

smaller as you go higher. The purpose of elevating is to show the features of the yard,

no pole camera will allow you to photograph over the house, showing the back yard

of a property.  View Sample ProPole Shots

Can the vehicle be driven when the telescopic pole is raised?

No, the pole must be lowered before driving.

How high is the pole when it is collapsed for driving and is the camera attached?

The camera is quickly removed for traveling at high speed or on rough roads.

The pole, with camera removed, is 7 feet tall plus the height of the vehicle's hitch above the

ground. This provides ample clearance from all roadway hazzards except parking garages.

For comparison, tractor trailers have a maximum height of 13' 6" in the United States.

Are there any limitations or warning associated with the MVS System?

As with anything elevated and metal, the user must not operate in close proximity to

power lines and must not operate when lightning is a possibility.

Does the camera move or sway when elevated?

On gusty days there is some movement depending on wind strength, however it does

not interfere with obtaining quality elevated photography. The user may limit pole

height in gusty conditions to reduce sway. Also, crank down stabilizer legs may be

purchased seperately to provide increased stability in gusty conditions.

How is the system powered and how is the pole raised?

The pan and tilt unit is battery powered and the telescopic pole is pneumatically

raised using a hand pump. The pole can be raised or lowered in less then two minutes.
